The Remediation Toolkit provides recommendations and resources to supervisors and clinical mentors to develop a remediation plan for competency development in learners after unsatisfactory completion of GRS Academy courses. If a learner fails the final exam for a course/program or scores in the range of “Unacceptable” on competency checks, a remediation plan is recommended, as the learner is not safe to perform treatment with patients. The learner needs to be supported to facilitate skill application through the use of clinical reasoning to improve clinical performance and competence.
